I am as passionate as they come about carp angling. I always go on a venue seeking the biggest fish. To me, size does matter! That’s my main challenge and what keeps me motivated, catching bigger and bigger fish. I am well aware that’s not easy at all, but I do love a challenge.

 First thing’s first – I always make sure there are big carp in the lake. Once I know for sure the fish are there, I start carefully preparing everything because just as most of you I sadly don’t have the time to chase what is not there.

I whole heartedly believe in high nutritional value baits, but I keep my angling flexible at all times. For me bait is the bedrock of my angling. You can change a lot of things during the session, you can discard a lot of nonsense, but if the bait isn’t up to the challenge, it makes it very difficult to achieve your target.

I went for Select Baits because they really impressed me with the high amount of detail they offered, particularly about boilies and base mixes. I know by now that if a particular bait keeps producing, it can’t be mere coincidence. If you browse around the Select Baits website you’d be hard pressed to think all of those fish are random occurrences.

What would I say to a young, up and coming angler who is also looking for the big’uns? Without much thought I’d tell him to drop anything else and just fish boilies. Big carp get caught on boilies.
