Hookbait boilies

Hook bait boilies have evolved into their own separate chapter for bait companies everywhere. Gone are the days when they were just boilies plucked out of the bulk packages and identical to the freebies offered. Today what classifies as a hook bait boilies really is something special, with numerous improvements in terms of attraction or structure. The ones that usually stand out are the hardened hookbaits and the critically balanced, cork-infused boilies. Cork is a highly buoyant material which greatly reduces the weight of the boilies. Depending on the aim, cork is introduced in the base mix in high degrees to obtain pop-ups, or in more moderate doses to get critically balanced baits. In both scenarios however we do end up with a hook bait that is identical in composition to the boilies we bait up with, which is very important. Critically balanced boilies do sink, but they do so very gently and since they are overall much lighter, they fly more easily into the carp's mouth. It could even be said that by being lighter they improve overall rig mechanics. This is particularly true when we use larger baits 20mm or over. A further advantage of cork-based critically balanced boilies is that the end product is much sturdier and resists better to nuisance fish or crays. It's just like with any other product whose backbone is reinforced - you end up with a harder boilies without having to go to any exceeding lenghts to over-dry it. Any boilies can be hardened by dehydration, but doing this also takes away some of the attractiveness and flavors. Cork-infused hook bait boilies solve this problem - they are harder to begin with and conserve the original flavors. Just like any other regular boilies, they can be further dried or diped to suit your needs. Dried for a longer period they become almost rock-hard and thus excellent for dealing with crays. Fish them correctly, fish them with confidence and they will produce the goods!
